Join Dr. Debra Foran, Associate Professor, Chair, Department of Archaeology and Classical Studies, Wilfrid Laurier University for their lecture, "Life of a Medieval Village." Please register. Life of a Medieval Village: The Town of Nebo in the Byzantine and Early Islamic Periods: From the 5th through the 8th centuries, the Nebo region became the home of numerous religious and secular communities. The region was dotted with both ascetic and communal monasteries that were interspersed with larger urban centres and smaller rural villages. By focusing on the results of the 2026 field season of the Town of Nebo Archaeological Project, this lecture will explore how these different communities may have interacted with and benefitted from each other.
